Online Business on Strike

The Internet community has blacked out for 24 hours on January 18th to raise awareness about the legislation being proposed by the U.S. Congress — the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) in the U.S. Senate and to encourage readers to speak out against online website.

What is SOPA?

SOPA also known as House Bill 3261 is a bill was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on October 26, 2011. Under this act any individual person can claim or register court order against any online website which are doing business in fictitious ways or using copyrighted materials. The claim can raise by any individual who think the website is not genuine.

Many top business website and internet community protesting against this. They think this is the real threats to the free and open Internet business. It can reduce economical development and may cause the loss of millions of dollars to the online business.

Google US, Wikipedia , reddit, wordpress, scribd and many other top online industries join the Protest against SOPA. So today, the Internet is on Strike and we would like to invite you to join the strike and make our voice powerful against political parties.
