Rank your existing pages with the help of Google Webmaster and Analytic Tool

You may be using Google webmaster tool and analytic tool for data analysis. But do you know, you can do much more of that data to get high search engine ranking. It has so many good features which people still don’t know how to use it.

Today while doing research I stumble on the strategy that is helping me growing website ranking. The targeted keywords were stagnant for many months, but now they started moving.

Lets see how it works.

To get going, you must have your webmaster tool link to your analytical tool. If it is already linked, then you are ready to begin. If it is not, then follow this procedure to configure it.  Access Search Console data in Google Analytics

Ok then. Now we are moving to the Google analytic dashboard.

Here you have to go to the tab name “queries” which is located under the Search Engine Optimization tab. You can find the tab here.

Reporting > Acquisition > Search Engine Optimization > Queries

Once you are at the console, first you have to select the date. The calendar is available in the top right hand side.

Select the date of past month e.g. Jan 1st to Jan 31st, so you will get enough data to evaluate.

The next step is increasing the number of rows of the table. That you can do by selecting the number of rows you want to display on the page. To do this find the drop down menu in the footer section of the page. It is named “Show rows”.

Select 1000 per page in the drop down.  It will increase the page size and you will see 1000 keywords for which your website is currently ranking.

Now the page is having 5 columns in front of you. The first column shows you the keywords those are ranked in the Google search. The second column is for Impression of the keywords they are receiving from the search query and the third column is for the clicks that each keywords are getting from the search results.

The fourth and fifth columns are displaying the average position of the keywords and the CTR respectively.

Now what you have to do is, you have to search the keyword listed in the table on the Google search. To see the change instantly, I would suggest selecting the keywords which are in the top 20 or 30 position.

Choose the keyword and go to the Google. Find the position by browsing second or third page as per the ranking. See which page Google has selected for that keyword.

Now it is time to implement the strategy. The first thing you have to do is, check the page speed of that page. If it is below 70 then optimize it and get at least 70+ page speed. You can check page speed by visiting Google page speed checker tool.

The next step is checking any broken links. You can check that from broken link checker tool.

Once you have done this. The next step is checking meta title tag. It is very important that your website is not having a similar meta title tag on other pages available on your website.

To check that, you can use below search query to find it. Go to Google and search below code. Do not forget to change “domain.com” to your website url and the “example meta title” to your meta keyword.

site:domain.com inurl:example meta title

If you find one, then change the meta title of secondary page. The duplicate meta title makes the Google crawler confuse.

The final step is checking the keyword in the content. The keyword must be there in the content. When I say in the content that means in actual content, not in the side bar or in the footer section. So please make sure that it is properly used in the content.

Make all the changes and submit the page for crawling by submitting to the Google Search Console url submission page.

Now wait for one day and see the growth in the ranking. It will fluctuate for a few days, mostly up-side trend. In some cases it will show a drop in the ranking, but now you know how to move the ranking. So make the changes in the content and add some internal links and outbound links to give weight to the page.

If you do it correctly, you can pull your website in the top ten positions.

So try this on your website and let me know the results.
